ABOUT
Hello! I’m Yan, a graduate of the Mackintosh School of Architecture with a Master’s and Diploma in Architecture. 

My work explores the reuse of materials and the emotional connection we have with space, often blending architecture, art, and craft.

My master’s thesis focused on reconfiguring abandoned Japanese farmhouses (Akiya) through deconstruction and adaptive reuse, drawing on traditional joinery and ecological methods. Previously, I investigated the reconstruction of an abandoned shrine into a woodcrafting guild utilising reused wood and robotic milling, merging heritage with new construction techniques.

Alongside architecture, I’m passionate about scenography, music, graphic design, illustration, and spatial storytelling. I’m currently seeking roles in architecture, design, or creative direction that allow me to combine these interests.
